Rex Mill Middle School Career Day
Spivey Station Surgery Center participated in Career Day at Rex Mill Middle School, located in Rex, Ga. On Tuesday, May 19, 2009, Melody Mena, Director of Surgical Services for the Surgery Center, provided two thirty-minute presentations to eighth-grade students interested in various medical professions. Thirty-eight students had the opportunity to gain valuable insight to the health care profession as well as participate in a hands-on experience as they "prepped for surgery."
Spivey Station Surgery Center Grand Opening
The Surgery Center at Mt. Zion will officially move to a new location at Spivey Station this spring. The grand opening celebration on May 3 includes a FREE community fair, live music, health screenings, community organizations, foof, facility tours and fun for familiy members of all ages.
The Spivey Station Surgery Center relocation to a brand new facility is one way to show that we are always looking for better ways to serve you.
"Spring Into Healthy Living"
Women Connecting Women and Southern Regional Medical Center Foundation are hosting an event just for women on April 27. This third annual event will provide information about women's health issues, with a special focus on bone density and prevention of osteoporosis. Guests will enjoy delicious foods prepared by local restaurants from different cultures. An emphasis will be placed upon developing healthy lifestyle habits that benefit the entire family. To purchase tickets, call (770) 991.8004. The Surgery Center at Mt. Zion will participate in this event by providing a booth. Georgia Public Broadcasting FREE Happy Healthy Kids Day!
Each year, GPB hosts a free day of exploration for Atlanta metro families. In addition to spending the day with Curious George, Clifford, Super Why and other GPB kid's friends, guests enjoyed healthy fun and activities. This year, kids even got the opportunity to play video games the healthy way with the Surgery Center and their Wii. The Surgery Center at Mt. Zion participated in GPB's Healthy Kids Day on Sept. 27, 2008, by sponsoring "Wii Support Healthy Bodies."
Mt. Zion High School
The Surgery Center at Mt. Zion is sponsoring mini spirit footballs for Mt. Zion High's upcoming 2008 football season. The mini footballs are to encourage drug and alcohol abstinence, reading "Real winners don't use drugs and alcohol." Come out this season and show your support for the Mt. "Heart of the Southern Crescent" Health Fair
Southern Regional Medical Center hosted the state's largest fair in February of 2008 at Southlake Mall in Morrow, Ga.
The Surgery Center at Mt. Zion participated in the fair with a booth.
Hands of Hope Clinic
The mission of the Hands of Hope Clinic is to provide free medical and dental care, as well as medications to the uninsured and underserved residents of Henry County. They believe access to healthcare is a right for every individual, and Hands of Hope Clinic exists to provide compassionate, quality healthcare for every patient who enters their doors.
The Surgery Center at Mt. Zion provides surgical services to the Hands of Hope Clinic.
Good Samaritan Health Center
The Center provides a comprehensive range of services for patients without the means to afford care. Atlanta’s homeless make up about 20% of patient visits, the working poor 70%, and those who are Medicaid/Medicare eligible compose 10% of our visits.
The Surgery Center at Mt. Zion provides surgical services to the Good Samaritan Health Center.
North Henry Youth Football League
The Surgery Center at Mt. Zion sponsors the North Henry Youth Football League.
Henry County-Dutchtown Elementary School
Dutchtown Elementary, located in Hampton, Georgia is a learning community that is committed to using all resources wisely to ensure that all members are nurtured and achieve at high levels as measured by local, state, and national standards.
The Surgery Center at Mt. Zion presents regularly at Career Day and developed a presentation on the human spine for the elementary students.
Kids r’ Kids Daycare
"Hug First, Then Teach" is a promise the Stockbridge Kids ‘R’ Kids makes - something that sets the facility apart from other daycare centers in Georgia. In fact, they don’t consider themselves to be childcare in the traditional sense. They call themselves a "School of Quality Learning."
The Surgery Center at Mt. Zion regularly participates in a Handwashing Educational Program for students at Kid r’ Kids.
Clayton County Chamber of Commerce
Clayton County Chamber of Commerce promotes the quality of life, southern charm, quality growth and pro-business attitude of the County.
The Surgery Center at Mt. Zion is a member of the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce.
