News & Events: The Surgery Center.. The Surgery Center at Mt. Zion Adds OBGYN Services ATLANTA (Jan. 12, 2009) – The Surgery Center at Mt. Zion, providing outpatient surgery services and pain management care in Atlanta since 1997, is pleased to announce expanded OBGYN services, including laparoscopic tubal ligation, Novasure, diagnostic and operative laparoscopy for endometriosis and D&C.  Starting immediately, Southern Crescent Women’s Health, providing services in obstetrics and gynecology, will affiliate themselves with the Center’s credentialed staff.   Since 1986, Southern Crescent Women’s Healthcare has been offering services in obstetrics and gynecology to Clayton, Fayette, Henry, Coweta and Spalding counties at two convenient locations in Fayetteville and Jonesboro. This group of eight physicians has been providing healthcare for women in all stages of life for more than twenty years. OBGYN physicians include: Edwin Bello, MD, FACOG, has been practicing medicine since 1990. Dr. Bello completed his MD at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and his internship/residency at the University Hospital at the University of Puerto Rico. Michlene Broadney, MD, a local graduate from Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Broadney is also a Certified Clinical Bone Densitometrist. Benita Bonser, MD, FACOG, a board certified physician that completed her MD from the University of Michigan. Dr. Broadney’s passion is preventative medicine and teenage pregnancy prevention. Elizabeth W. Killebrew, MD, FACOG, president and senior partner of Southern Crescent Women’s Healthcare. Dr. Killebrew has been delivering babies and practicing gynecology since 1987. Sharon A. Lynch-Miller, MD, FACOG, a board certified physician that completed her MD from the University of Rochester School of Medicine. W. Darrell Martin, MD, FACOG, a dynamic part of ISSA International Ministries where he regularly visits the mission field in Cuba. Dr. Martin and his wife assist in the ministry of Southwest Christian Hospice. Cynthia Nater, MD, joined the practice in 2005 after completing her residency program at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Nater is a Certified Clinical Bone Densitometrist and also fluent in Spanish. Crystal O. Slade, MD, a board eligible physician that completed her MD at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Slade completed the residency program at Medical College of Pennsylvania.  With this latest addition to the medical staff, the Surgery Center is now able to accommodate even more outpatient opportunities for our Southern Crescent community and is right on track for expansion to a new facility in Spring 2009. The relocation from Morrow, Ga. to Spivey Station, a 90-acre medical campus now under development, will bring unparalleled outpatient service to the Southern Crescent. The new facility will include 25,000 square feet, operating rooms with telesurgery capability, a patient waiting area with business office tools and Internet café, and the ability to fill prescriptions prior to discharge. This will be the first time many of these amenities are offered in the Southern Crescent.   With the move to Spivey Station in 2009, the Center will take a new name - Spivey Station Surgery Center.     About The Surgery Center at Mt.
