Innovation is the lifeblood of improved healthcare.
The Spivey Station Surgery Center encourages and embraces innovation in healthcare. We’re always focused on improving the patient experience whether it’s by providing patient gowns that warm themselves or running a paperless office allowing staff more time with patients. Each and every day we search for new ways to make your visit pleasant. In addition, our facility has made cutting edge healthcare procedures available to all. We are on the forefront of how we can help patients the Southern Arc and in the state of Georgia. For example:
-
We are one of only 10 healthcare facilities in the state of Georgia performing Baha® , an intracranial implant that helps those with complete hearing loss and certain hearing difficulties to hear again – or for the first time ever.
-
We use only state-of-the-art arthroscopic, endoscopic and laparoscopic equipment which means a faster, safer, more comfortable and accurate procedure for you.
-
We offer top line outpatient orthopedic services including knee, shoulder, ankle and elbow joint arthroscopy, sport medicine surgeries including ACL knee repairs, endoscopic carpal tunnel repairs, and shoulder rotator cuff repairs using the most technologically advanced methods and systems.
-
We aggressively control post operative pain using specialized nerve blocks performed by our anesthesiologist and also provide non-narcotic pain control pumps that go home with you. These alternatives provide for a non-narcotic solution and little or no pain for up to 48 hours after surgery, which is when most patients have pain control issues. Our anesthesiologist will consult with your doctor on the day of surgery to determine the best way to control postoperative pain.

1. Baha® Sound Processor
2. Abutment
3. Titanium Implant
For some people with hearing loss, Baha® can provide another pathway to perceive sound other than through the ear.
The Baha® system utilizes direct bone conduction, which allows the bone to transfer sound to a functioning cochlea – thereby bypassing the middle ear. This unique hearing treatment is the only system of its kind cleared by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat hearing loss.
One reason the Baha® system works so well is due to its simple design. The Baha® system combines a sound processor with an abutment and a small titanium implant. The implant is placed behind the non-functioning ear. Surgery is minor, and Baha® recipients report a wide range of advantages over other hearing devices.
